Below are some of the emails and postings where people are not happy with Harrison Thomas aka LaTour due to his abusive behavior and/or harassment. Also, many of the malicious postings by Harrison have previously been removed by Genforum. This one was previously posted on the LaTour forum. Subj: Re: Pierre Grasset LaTour Family of St. Landry Parish, LA Date: 5/6/2007 5:08:10 PM Eastern Daylight Time From: roots@lazeut.com To: Lcroc0807@aol.com Sent from the Internet (Details) Dear Mr. Crockett, The research of Mr. Harrison Thomas is well known to me. As early as 1999, he contacted me with indications that he was related to the LaTour family line I have documented on my website. At that time I provided Mr. Thomas with compelling information that there is not compelling relationship to Homer Latour and Ozeme Latour. Putting aside the matter of race, I could not corroborate nor substantiate his claims and came to the same conclusions as you. There is no apparent genealogical relationship between the family he is researching and the Etienne Alexis Grasset Latour family from France that I have traced to Louisiana. Over the years, Mr. Thomas has repeatedly asked that I provide a link to his websites, as in his mind the two family are related. I have not done so. To my chagrin, on at least one website, he grafted the French Latour research from my website into his family tree. He then proceeded to arbitrarily link the LaTour family to the royalty of Europe. According this this flight of fancy, my wife and I showed up on this website as distant relatives to the late Lady Diana of England and other European royalty. We are not. This is all too sad. At times, Mr. Thomas seems to pursue credible research, providing documentation of his findings. Unfortunately, he takes extreme liberties to bridge gaps where no documentation has been found and draws conclusions that I have yet to see substantiated. A word about my research. You are correct the much of the original LaTour family research I have was done by my late father-in-law Raymond Latour from Ville Platte. His sister Annabelle Latour also did much research, but became discouraged when trying to trace the family back to France. In 1998, I hired a professional genealogist in France, Martine Duhamel, to pick up the trail. She pushed the family back to the early 18th century to the Bergerac region of France where the trail disappeared. I was able to share this information with Annabelle shortly before she passed away. In corroborating Raymond Latour's research, I used Hébert's Southwest Louisiana Records series as well as doing some microfilm research at the National Archives of federal censuses. For some family relationships from Quebec, I have used Jetté's Dictionnaire généalogique des familles du Quebec. I also have received information from currently living family members. Thank your for taking the time to contact me and provide my with your research. Richard Zeutenhorst Arlington, Virginia This one was posted on the Guillory forum. It is obvious wanting to prove there were /are Black Guillory's is his major motivation. All of us that trace our lineage to the Guillory line know there is a black blood lines and who cares. What difference does it make. Hell Thomas Jefferson sired Black children. This person is trying to invent himself a lineage. Let him, who cares? Too many researchers have spent too many hours tracing our lineage to have some modern day wannebe discredit all research done to this date. Hell he doubts the work of Father Hebert. That should establish this persons credentials. LaTour's postings are designed to belittle the Whites and elevate the Blacks. So what is new about this. The Blacks are dumbing down America. They do not rise to our standards - we lower to their standards. Fug em. Email from a cousin of Harrison Thomas aka LaTour. I have left off this person's name but can send the actual email if someone wants to see it. This was sent to me by Lee Crockett. August 20, 2007 Lee: I've read several of your posts regarding LeBlanc/LaTour genealogy and would like to correspond with you but have had trouble getting an e-mail address for you. I don't want to discuss things on a public forum as I have had trouble with Harrison Thomas regarding his questionable research. If I have the correct address for you and you would be willing to help me unravel some of the mysteries of my Charlotte LeBlanc and Homer LaTour lines, will you please contact me? thank you Posting on WorldConnect Project file by a researcher who found out Harrison is a plagiarizer. From Lee Crockett: Correcting errors I had posted from someone I thought was reputable, but who actually pragerized Lee's work as his own. Here is what Lee sent me by email. I believe the truth sets us free from error. (She goes on to include an email message from Lee) Email from Help Desk Asking Harrsion to remove the notes he plagiarized from Lee Crockett.
