Hi Donald, I hope I can fill all this in and not mess up. Benjamin F. Rich first shows up in the 1880 census of Nassau co. Fl. married to a woman by the name of Martha ? (for good reason we will call her #1.) Ben is listed as a Bridgekeeper his birth is about 1838 and him and #1 are born in Ga. They have a son names John age 4 yrs. old. Born in Fl. Also in the 1880 census is a John F. Rich born 1835 in Ga. also listed as a Bridgekeeper. He lives alone. Ben's (both) parents are born in Ga. Now on the other hand John's father is listed as unknown and his mother's birthplace is Ireland. But I still feel they are related, just don't know how. Now in 1883 in Nassau Fl. #1 dies in childbirth along with the baby. Now enters our Martha Anzie Ennis, she is a nurse. They get married April 22, 1894. They have 2 boys 1st. one Jesse Randall Rich b:1896 and 2nd Benjamin Franklin Rich Jr. born in 1897. But Sr. died also in 1897 before the birth of his second son. Now I do have some info on Sr. about the civil war. He joined up on the 10th of March 1862, in Co. H (Liberty Guards) 5th fl. Inf.. I can only conclude that he lived in Liberty Co. Fl. during that time. Maybe that's where he met and married #1.I hope this makes sence to you. Katie
