Thank you for the reply, I've been searching for a Rich connection all my life. Being told that the family name had been changed due to someone's generosity led me to believe that once connecting to the highly elusive Mr. Rich, that gave my Grandfather his new name, I could find out whatever happened to that side of my family. My dad did have siblings and the last one left no longer has complete use of all of her mental and physical abilities.
Had I known of these resources earlier in life, my father's generation would've been a great help in gathering the correct given names. Much like the first book of the Bible, they used to sit and rattle off who begat whom and so on and so fourth. The stories from my visits with my dad at the nursing home, right before his death, turned up some really good leads which all landed me here at the Rich genealogy forum.
I guess what I'm really looking for here is a historian.
Thanks again for your reply, I only wish that somehow I find that highly elusive Mr. Rich.
