I'll not argue with your husband's relatives about relations with American indian ancestors. I will say this: Descendents of American indians were allowed certain monetary payments. therefore, many claimed to have indian ancestors and lots did but many did not. Rumor has it that there was indian blood on my maternal g'mas side. Who knows?
It's unimportant as far as monetary goes these days. Just interesting stuff.
