Hello John:

I hope this isn't the same McLaughlin that posted me on the Doolings.

I research the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It contains 12,000,000 surviving rcds for abt 65% of Irish counties. Rcds are increasingly sparse B4 1840, rare B4 1800.

Note 1 - Without a KNOWN county, the chance of an ancestor's rcds NOT being in this database is AT LEAST 35%.

Note 2 - Only 1/2 of Co. Cork's rcds are in this database.

Note 3 - The RC church kept control over most parish rcds from Tipperary (north). These are ONLY available thru the Tipperary Family History Research center at a substantial fee (regardless of outcome).

For Marg(arite) Rice B 1888 (exact) Co. Armagh with a father forenamed Felix, I found 0 rcds.

For Mich(ael) Rice B 1886 ditto, I found 1 rcd in Upper Killeavy parish.

For Sarah Rice B 1883 ditto, ditto.

For Cat(herine) Rice B 1881 ditto, ditto.

For Mary Ann Rice B 1879 ditto, ditto.

For Stephen Rice B 1876 ditto, ditto.

For Felix Rice M 1875 +/- 1 yr, Co. Armagh, I found 1 rcd, 1876, Mull'glass RC parish. A view of the detailed rcd SHOULD reveal the correct bride's name. If so, it SHOULD show their parents' names as well as other info. This may help validate Felix and Mary's B rcds.

For Mary Began M ditto, I found 0 rcds. This may be either an incorrect name, or an IFHF transcription error.

For Felix Rice B 1851? somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown, I found 2 rcds: 1846 Upper Cregan parish and 1857 Lower Killeavy, Co. Armagh. Father's forenames were Charles and Unknown respectively. The 1846 date is slightly more preferable as males tended to marry at later dates than females.

For Charles Rice M 1842 +/- 4 yrs, Co. Armagh, I found 2 rcds: 1841 Loughgilly parish and 1845 Ballymore. The 1845 rcd seems the more promising. Again, a view of the detailed rcd . . . .

For Charles Rice B 1820 +/- 4 yrs, Co. Armagh, I found 1 rcd in 1824, Armagh parish.

Google the Foundation's name to lead you to this database. Register, opt to be notified as rcds are added and browse. Pls post your search results to my genforum msg.

Hope this helps.
