Walter and Stella June Rice, Bradford County, PA

I am doing research into my Rice family heritage - My mother's side. She was given up as a baby in 1939, being an illegitimate child. I've learned that the father was a married man, with one (other) daughter that I know of. The name on my mother's birth certificate is incorrect, so if anyone has any insight to businesses that existed in the Canton, PA area in 1939 (Photos would be EXCELLENT) would be much appreciated.

I DO know that my mother's mother was Madeline Rice Daniels, daughter to Walter (born 1885) and Stella June Rice(born 1882). If anyone can tell me if Walter had brothers/sisters and who his parents were would be fantastic. The few names I have so far don't say HOW they're related, but I know they are.

Levi Rice - "Mary, Polly, Eunice, Silas and Harley" conveyed land to Abisha M. Rice 1818. (That land is situated east of the Sayre Lockhart St. Bridge over the South Branch of the Susquehanna River .) This Levi is on the 1808 and 1812 Athens tax lists. We suspect that the above Levi is the Levi Rice b 13 Apr 1760/1761 in Brookfield, Worcester Co., MA and son to Ephraim Rice and Thankful Walker. Our conjecture as to this relationship is based on a very slim statement provided by the Edmund Rice Association to wit: "Tis said he settled in Penn. and had a large family of children." Looking for confirmation/refutation of above - - Message posted from Marlea Rice Warren, whom I just found very recently to be my 2nd cousin.

I would appreciate ANY information.

Thank you,
KC
