I have a family tale as follows: a small son of 4yrs brought with Mr Richards/Ricards to Bethnal green London changing name by deed pole from i believe Ricards. He had son with a member of Spanish Royalty but due to being Hugoneuts came to England.
The Ricards? had a silk factory and were originally from Lille. I have searched this and found a Ricard family sold a Silk Factory in Denize Belgium but that is as far as i have got.
George Richards b bef 1774 d 23 Jul 1842 middlesex(not sure if he brought the 4yr old or was the 4yr old)his was
John richards 1817 Bethnal Green married a Jane Baker Shoreditch 1817. I have a 1940s letter to prove the tale
