According to my records, Sarah Butz, Agnus' mother, died in January 1879.Four months later her father, Henry Butz, married Mary Davies.Their first child, Walter, was my grandfather.
I have a copy of Sarah Butz' will that shows "Agnes, intermarried with William H. Ribble".Sarah left her house (102 1/2 N. 7 St., Berks County, PA) to her husband, Henry Butz; son, John D. Butz; and daugher and son-in-law (Agnes & William), and further noted that they "shall occupy the same jointly during the natural life of my daughter, Agnes."
I also have a copy of a page from the 1870 census that lists her as being 18 years old and unmarried. So the marriage date must have been some time after the census was taken in 1870 or 1871.
Henry Butz died in 1886.Both my grandfather and his half-brother were sent to the Reading School for Boys, because their mother could not afford to care for them.
Are you in contact with anyone related to William Ribbles line?
