I am looking for the parents of Jonathon Bailey Smith b.Jan 2, 1836 in Newport, Rhode Island.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I have been stuck on this gggrandfather for 8 years.
Jonathon died in St. Louis Missouri in 1901 and the lot he is buried on was bought by a James and William H. Smith. They are the brothers of Jane Smith Cavender who owns the lot next to this one. There is an Alexander H. Smith b.1804 in New England also buried on this lot.
John's wife is Mary Watkins from KY but her line leads back to Little Compton, RI (Simmons, Jennings, Grinnell, Wood, Church)
John and Mary's children were named Sopronia, Jessie, Agnes, Walter, William, Fannie Marguerite, Edwin, Jennings, Ida and Simmons.
