I am looking for the parents of Gideon Manchester. He was born around 1817 in RI or Bristol Co., MA and was married to Martha Gray in 1838 in Fall River, MA. They were living in Fall River when the 1850 US census was taken. I believe he may have died between 1850 and 1860.
Martha Gray was the daughter of Edward Gray and Sarah Gray and was born in 1819 in Tiverton, RI and died in 1894 in Westport, MA.
I am descended from them through their son Jeremiah B. Manchester (1843-1905) and his wife Harriet Macomber (1842-1890), daughter of Richard Macomber and Hannah Briggs.
Gideon and Martha Manchester had at least 3 other children - Henry, Marietta, and June/Jane/Jennie?.
I appreciate any help on this and I would love to share information with others researching the Manchester family in RI and Bristol County, MA and any related families. Please help if you can!
