The only thing I found was a marriage notice for a daughter, Catherine, that was published in the 28 Jan 1815 Newport Mercury. She was married to a Jonathan C. Stebbins by the Rev. Mr. Webb. The notice calls her the daughter of the late Martin Coats " of this town" [Newport]
There was also a probate notice for Martin Coats in the 14 Feb 1803 paper, with widow Catherine Coats named as Executrix but no mention of any other family. In Rhode Island, wills and probate files are kept in the city or town where they were filed so perhaps that is worth looking into? The 1790 census indicates there may have been two sons under the age of 16, as well as the daughter, Catherine, referenced above.
