Earliest FENNERs in Rhode Island - anyone researching them? I have questions.
I am researching John Fenner who was alive in 1656.I have read conflicting information online.
At first I thought the Thomas Fenner of Branford, Connecticut who died in 1647 was the father of John and Arthur.(See #1 below)
Then I found the 1908 NEHGR info by Mary K. Talcott, "there can be little doubt that Arthur Fenner of Providenc, and his brother John Fenner of Saybrook, were sons of" Arthur Fenner. Also, the TAG article in Volume XV on page 80, "Arthur Fenner...born probably...1575...married...Sarah Browne... Children...Thomas, bapt. 20 July 1617, d. 15 May 1647, Branford...Arthur (Hon.) bapt. 17 Oct. 1619, d. 10 Oct. 1703, Providence...William, bapt. 11 Sept. 1625, d...1680, Newport...John, bapt. 13 Feb. 1630-31, d. in 1709, probably Saybrook, Conn..."
I would like to correspond with someone who is familiar with accurate information about these men.
I am not a descendant.I am researching the 16 men who petitioned Dutch authorities on 16 March 1656 for permission to remain in Westchester; John Fenner was one of the 16.He didn't stay long.
