Bay Colony, and Portsmouth, RI [Rhode Island] who died between 1656 to 1659 in Portsmouth, RI.She treated ailments with tea herbs, was a midwife and friend of Anne HUTCHINSON.They paid taxes in grain, wool or cheese.Source is John Winthrop's "History of New England" (1853) 2:10-11; 1:313 ff.

2) Job or Jobe HAWKINS of Boston, MA, of Portsmouth RI in 1641, of Boston, MA in 1656 and of Portsmouth, RI in 1677, cared by overseer of the poor, and died after 6 Jan. 1682.He lived the longest of the children.
3) Thomas HAWKINS of Boston, MA;
4) Miss ____ HAWKINS of Portsmouth, RI, m. Thomas BROOKS [He died bef. 30 June 1680] and was a neighbor to Richard HAWKINS before they married.
Thomas BROOKS was a Sergeant in the Portsmouth Militia, served on the jury, and was a leather dresser. He moved to Portsmouth, RI before 27 May 1644.
