James, his mother and sister, Mary and Sarah Davis
Can anyone help me with information or the whereabouts of the Davis family, formerly of Newtown, near Knock, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, Ireland. James Davis emigrated to New York in June 1901, age 18, and the address given on the Ship's Manafest was, "? Davis, brother living in Brooklyn, New York". James's father, James snr. had passed away a couple of years earlier in 1898 followed by his three brothers, Richard, Robert and John, in the years 1912--1914. By September 1914, his mother, Mary and sister, Sarah had sold the family farm and followed James and his brother to New York. They left Cobh, Co. Cork, on the 22nd September 1914 aboard the ship, 'Celtic'. The ship's Manefest stated that they were visiting Mary's son, James, at Valley Road, West Orange, New York. I would like to know what happened to the family, did James and Sarah or their other brother marry and if there is anyone alive today who are relatives or who knew their family story?
