Hi Jean -

I checked the 1850 RI Census. For Ward 6, Providence Co., RI, Roll 845, p. 457, there is a JAMES L. FENNER (notice middle initial) shown,as follows:

JAMES L. FENNER, 35, M, Jeweller, b. RI
SARAH " , 35, F, b. Conn.
ALBERT, 12, M, b. RI
EARL, 9, M, b. RI
JOSEPH, 7, M, b. RI
JAMES, 1 1/2, M, b. RI

There is another James Fenner listed for Johnston,RI 1850, age 47, with wife (L---), and older person surname GREENE.

That's all I found. Hope it helps.

Regards,Kathy - Long Island, NY
