Dawna,I'm glad you like the info. You can get the 1901 Canadian census free online at http://automatedgenealogy.com/census/index.htmlhttp://automatedgenealogy.com/census/index.htmland the 1881 census of Canada with the 1880 US and 1881 British census free at www.familysearch.orgThese are all sites I use regularly.Another good site is rootsweb.com where they have the social security death index (mainly for people with US social security #'s who died in the 60's or later). They also have lots of other databases at that site including the California death index where I found George Grant Robertson's death date and place. Many people have posted their family trees online at rootsweb's "worldconnect" project. You can do a search and see if anyone else is researching your family.Right now I get the US census free through my local library. With a little bit of clicking around the internet you can find just about anything for free.
My ancestors were pretty much all French Canadian. My husbands Wood ancestors were in Maine for the last couple of centuries.I haven't been able to trace them before that even though there are a lot of us looking.
I check the RI forum all the time to see if there is anyone I can help.I live here and I have a pretty good idea where to find the best info.I wish I had some PEI ancestors so I could take you up on your offer!
