Hello, I am looking for parents info and any relatives of my Ggrandmother
ANTONIA FONTAINE
b. 23 Oct 1868 Westerly, Hopkington, RI
(MARY FONTAINE is name on birth certificate)--4th child of Joseph and
Philomena ?
d. 13 July 1960 Providence, RI
m. JOSEPH MOREAU 04 May, 1884 in Woonsocket, RI.
They may have been married in a civil ceremony because I could
not find this marriage in any of the Catholic parishes in Woonsocket, RI
From the 1900 Census for R. I. -------
JOSEPH S. MOREAU born Aug 1863 , age 37, born in Canada (Fr.)
ANNIE MOREAU , wife, Oct 1868, age 31, Ma. (am sure this is my Antonia, and that
the following are the family of my grandmother, Clara Moreau.

ANNA b. 1885
ARTHUR b. 1887
CLARA b. 1890 (my grandmother) (married Herman Malouin in 1907)
CHARLEY b. 1892
DELIA b. 1894
WILLIAM b. 1895
Antonia Fontaine and Joseph Moreau were divorced at an unknown time. On Joseph’s death certificate, in 1935, he is listed as divorced. She was known as Annie throughout most of her adult life by family and friends. I think
she always lived in RI . She owned 2 pieces of property in Conn. (possibly hotels or boarding houses)
She owned property at Bullock’s Point, RI near Crescent Park, and perhaps more around
the Crescent Park area.
She resided with Tom Stebbins for a number of years before her death.
I have some biographical information on Walter Fontaine of RI, John Fontaine, and
Charles Fontaine, grandfather of Walter, who was born in St. Hyacinth, Canada.
Walter owned property around the same area as Antonia, and I do have some relatives
(oral history only from my father) from St. Hyacinth, but I have not been able to find a connection with this family and mine.
Please help me find more information on my GGrandma Annie.
