Monica,I don't know how much of the following is going to help but this is what I have found so far:
George W. Keach, resident of Foster RI, enlisted 11 Oct 1861; trans. to Company E 5th RI Heavy Art'y 16 Dec 1861
disability discharge 13 Sept 1862 at New Berne NC; There is a listing in the pension index for this George W. Keach. His widow applied for a pension dated 27 June 1888 (which would be the approximate date of death for George, also). Her name was Elizabeth B. Keach.I also found a marriage record at familysearch.org (LDS site). This is not an ancestral file or pedigree entry, it is a vital records extraction from the vital records of Foster.
George W. Keach, born at North Adams MA,son of George W. and Charlotte Keach, married Elizabeth B. Moses, dau. of Samuel and Abigail Moses, 29 Oct 1861 in a Civil Ceremony. The husband was age 42, the wife 51.
I also found George W. Keach, age 10, in the 1870 census, living with his grandparents Waterman and Alice Greene in Foster.
If I understand your posting correctly, you are sure of the line up to George W. and Elizabeth A. (Greene) Keach. It is the parents of George W. that you are trying to prove?
