Edward is Edward Burroughs Perry, son of William Stanton and Lois (Davis) Perry. The identity of William Stanton Perry's parents is unknown. From the SK Monthly Meeting records, witnesses at his and Lois' marriage included one Perry and one Davis. The Davis was Preserved Davis, Lois' father. The Perry was Samuel Perry. So presumably William Stanton Perry may be the son of Samuel Perry. But the RI records have yet to reveal a Samuel Perry with a son William who fits. If there are other descendants of William Stanton Perry, I would be glad to share my thoughts on his father. Contact me by e-mail: wmewrght@hal-pc.org

The connection to the commodores may come from Hannah's mother-in-law by her first marriage. This mother-in-law was the aunt of the wife of Oliver Hazard Perry, grandson of the commodore.
