I am trying to find more information about this couple and Edward's family. LDS shows Edward's birth as before 1832, possibly in Wakefield, Washington Co. Hannah was born 19 March 1828, probably in RI. I do not have a marriage date or place. I also don't have dates and places of death. They moved to Santa Barbara, CA, and lived there for a while. Edward may have been a Quaker, since his daughter married a Quaker and their family is shown in Quaker minutes from NC. I don't know of any other children, but they had a daughter, Elizabeth Caroline Perry, who was born 4 November 1858, in either Providence or Wakefield. In either 1880 or 1884 (place unknown) she married Charles David Benbow of Guilford Co., NC. They may have met each other at a Quaker college in the RI area. Hannah Reynolds was previously married to Sprague Kenyon. I have some information on the Reynolds family, but I have nothing definite on Edward Perry's connection to the rest of his family. His daughter said that her great-uncles were Commodores Oliver Hazard Perry and Matthew Calbraith Perry, but I cannot find Edward's name in a list of known descendants of any of these brothers. If the connection is there, either he is a lost relative, or it may be through an uncle or great-uncle of the two brothers. The issue of family fact or fiction aside, I'd like to identify the precise connection and find out dates and places of birth, marriage, death, and siblings for Edward and his ancestors, as well as any siblings of Elizabeth and her date and place of marriage. I have already obtained some information on the Perry family in Rhode Island, in general, but I need to find the connection between Edward and them. I'd also love to have biographical information on anyone possible, including maternal lines. Can anyone help me? My daughter will be in Washington County in July, and I'd like to give her an idea of where to go and what to look for, since she is willing to spare a few hours from her boyfriend and his family to give me some help with this. Is there a book out there that describes this part of the Perry family? You are welcome to respond to docbenbow@aol.com, and thanks in advance for any assistance!
