Gracie:
Your DUGGAN people were from Westville, Pictou County, Nova Scotia. This is one of " towns" all clustered together in that area - Westville, New Glasgow, Stellarton, Trenton, and Pictou (=pick-toe). This was a coal mining area from the late 1800's until the 1960's when they shut down the mines (coal was too soft and polluted the air). They tried to start another coal mine inthe early 1990's in Stellarton, but in May 1992 it blew up, killing 26 men (15 of them were never found).
Go to the NS phone listings using - www.canada411.com - and look at the 191 DUGGAN names in NS. The ones with phone numbers starting with 396- are in Westville itself. The ones in the other towns nearby start with485-, 752-, 755-, or 928-. I suggest you might call a few and tell them about your people - someone in every family always some of the old history, and inthis area they keep pretty good records.
By the way, Keppoch is near Antigonish NS (=AN-tig-oh-NISH) in Antigonish County next door to Pictou. Keppoch is actually the name of a mountain, river, or gulch - take your pick ! So it would make sense that your folks met each other and married.

Dorchester and Guysborough both referred to Sir Guy Carleton [aka Lord Dorchester], Governor of NS.
