Brown, Carr, West, Davis, Hopkins, Rhode Island
Posted by: R. Greenup Date: July 27, 1997 at 13:55:10
  of 10798

The following families are in my lineage and eventually inter-
married:
Benjamin WEST, b. ca. 1730 in North Kingstown or Newport, RI
Married Elizabeth (Brown) Smith
His son, Hezekiah WEST, b. 13 Jan. 1754 in Hopkinton, RI, married
30 Mar. 1759 to Experience DAVIS.
James CARR, b. 15 Apr. 1798 in So. Kingstown, RI. He married "Polly"
(Mary?) BROWN, b. RI on 18 May, 1800. They removed to Cherry Creek
New York. She died there in 1838, and he later moved to Waterloo,
IA. Would like to learn more of her family.
James CARR's father was William, b.11 May 1763 in Jamestown, RI.
His wife was Lydia HOPKINS (nothing further known of her). The CARR
line goes back to Gov. Caleb Carr of Rhode Island b. 1616 -- not
verified by myself, but apparently well researched by others. If
anyone thinks they know more of any of these families (or would
like more of my information, please get in touch)
R. Greenup
