William Tanner +Hannah Utter 1700s

Did William Tanner marry Hannah Utter in the 1700s in Rhode Island? They were supposed to have a son named William Thurston Tanner, born in New York in 1792 and buried in Dryden, New York in 1878. I believe that William Tanner was born in Rhode Island. I would like to know more about this man and his family. Can someone help me with any info on the Tanner family of Rhode Island. Thank you Brian
