Thorntons/Harrises in Scituate
Have perused the Asahel Harris cemetery but only have more questions. My GGGgrandfather was a John Harris (b. mid to late 1700s - d ?) his wife was a Frances "Fannie"LNU.They had at least two known sons Daniel Marshall (b.1807) & Allen Bailey (b.1809) Harris traced through DNA.They are direct matches to an Azael D. Harris (sounds like Asahel).
I have old notes of John A. Harris 1792-1857 wife Eliza Olney.
Silas Harris 1788-1823.
I also have notes of a Frances Thornton Harris 1788-1821.My Harrises are found in Coosa Co. Alabama in mid 1800s living near Wilbanks.Wilbanks are "connected" to Thorntons, so I feel these families had similar migration patterns and may hold clues to "my" John Harris.I found a headright in late 1700s for a John Harris with a Sarah Thornton on one side, a Thornhill (Thornell derived from that and they are in Coosa Co), and a Beville nearby in Effingham Co.
Does anyone recognize these people and know how they fit?
