Your very welcome. Also if you know what branch of service you Dad was in you could send for his Military Records, since you have his SS # and date of birth and death there should be no problem, but you do have to wait a LONG time for them to get back to you.
The lady who answered you post is right if your Dad died in Warwick, the City Hall would have the death record but they don't do look ups via mail or phone.
If I where you I would give RI Vital Records a call, I don't no what their cost is and what you would need to get the death certificate. Death records are closed for 50 years except for family,etc., the public does not have access to death records after 1952.
I'm assuming that you don't live in Rhode Island, right?
