Sorry my fault, I misread the handwriting, but do see upon comparing his "J's", to other names on the page, that they look like a "V". So....

Samuel C. Smith married Julia A. Pearce, age 19, who was the daughter of Lewis B. Pearce, (not Smith).

I always try and triple check my posts before clicking send, but this one got by me!!
