I'm surprised that I haven't had any replies??????...My grandmother's Mother's name was Sara Smith,Her dad was Wiliam Rhynard.Annie Marie Rhynard Pulk moved to vinalhaven with my grandfater Capt. Edward Pulk. They adoptded my dad, Walter Edward Pulk.He I think, was adopted from family in Eastport, Me.Annie was born in 1878.She had a brother William Rhynard who was born in 1869 &later moved to Vinalhaven & died there in 1935.At some time they changed the name from Pulk to Polk.
