My grandmother was Annie Marie Rhynard of Halifax, Canada(1878-1949). Her parents were Sara Smith & William Rhynard, both of N.B.Canada. They moved to Indiana, then Troy, Ohio. At some point in time, Some- or at least part of the family came back to Eastport Me. Annie had a brother William . I haven't been able to find out if there were other siblings. Annie married my grandfather, Edward Pulk(later changed to Polk) in Eastport Me.& they later moved to an island off the coast of Me. ,Vinalhaven. They, along with her brother, William (1869-1935) are buried there.I have for months been trying to follow her history .There are still some Rhynards in Eastport Me. as well as Le'tete Canada, I believe. This is a very confusing family & difficult to follow. If you have any thing to add, please e-mail me.I would really appreciate any info as I'm trying to follow my Dad's side also. He was born in 1900 & died in 1964, when I was 13. I beleive he was adopted from either the Pulk or Rhynard side in Eastport, as island rumor is Capt. Ed & Annie went to the mainland & brought back a 3-4 month baby boy. There were twins in the family that were "given away"I think he most likely was one. He was never told , as these things were never talked about. Thanks Betsy
