I am searching for a surname Rhoten/Rhoton/Roton connection to the surname HILL. My 2nd GGF was John Rhoten Hill , married Rutha Jane Lusk in Madison co NC . John Rhoten Hill was a Methodist preacher/missionary to the Indians west of Ashville, NC. He was in Granbury, Hood co TX by 1871 where he started the first Methodist church. Around 1890 he was in McClain co OK at Purcell. He died ca 1916 and is buried at Lexington, Cleveland co OK. If anyone researching the Rotens and various spellings, could possibly give me some ideas , I will be very appreciative. A cousin and myself have searched for years for the parents of John Rhoten Hill. Thanks , Pat in OK
