I've seen a couple of older messages about various Rhoads in the area of Bamberg County, South Carolina, known as Hunter's Chapel. I don't know if this will add any information that is not already known, but there are several marked graves in the Old Zion Methodist Church Cemetery: John E. Road Jan 13, 1847 Spet 18, 1868 Mary M. Wife of N. D. Rhoad Oct 2, 1821 May 10, 1896 Nathaniel D. Road Oct 9th, 1812 Nov 6th, 1886 Hannah S. Wife of J. E. Rhoad Feb 16, 1848 Dec 25, 1896 The church relocated long ago, and this is almost an abandoned cemetery in the middle of a pine grove. I believe there are a number of graves that are buried in a century of pine straw and debris. Here are the ones that are marked: http://www.patsabin.com/bamberg/cemeteries/OldZionCem.html Recently, I acquired the announcement of my grandparents' wedding Oct. 10, 1907. Several Rhoads and related families attended: Rev. C. E. Walker, J. G. Rhoad, S. F. Berry, N. B. Rhoad, Misses Ollie and Florine Rhoad, and Mrs. Mamie Rentz of Hunter's Chapel.
