Reyomes (Reaume) from Canada ->OH,MI
I am trying to find the connection of my family in Canada. My Great-grandfather, Frank Reyome Sr. was born in Canada according to his obituary (exactly where, it didn't say). He was born on Sep 18, 1873 to Frank and Melvina Reyome. Later he came to Wood County, Ohio, USA and married Pearl Schooner, the daughter of a full-blooded Mohawk Indian (Thomas Schooner) and a lady born in Paris, France (Mary LaViere). He died in Ohio in 1949. His and Pearl's son, Frank Reyome Jr. was born in Ohio and married Carrie Mary Myerholtz. Their son Richard Reyome was my father. He also was born in Ohio.
I have searched for the name Reyome throughout your entire country. I have found many, many spellings and have been told that because we have come to Ohio from Canada, the original spelling in Canada probably was Reaume and we probably came from Ontario or Quebec and that in France the spelling was Rheaume. I have found many of these names (especially in Ontario) but cannot find one that could be taken as Frank Reyome, Melvina or even Pearl. No dates match, nothing seems to come together.
One man told me that some of the Reaumes from Ontario came to Monroe, Michigan and now spell their name Rayome but none of these people seem to match either.
Can anyone give me any other clues or point me in the right direction, please?
Thank you so very much!
Vicki Reyome Ashton
