Juan Reyes y Dias (Reyes, Diaz)
Looking for any information on Reyes y Dias (Diaz, Reyes) family I can find related to Juan Reyes who was born in Zapotla El Grande Mexico. Married Maria Reyes who was also born in Zapotlan El Grande Mexico. They had a son Juan Francisco Reyes who became a soldier:
Juan Francisco Reyes y Dias, was a soldier of the 1769 Gaspar de Portola Expedition from the Royal Presidio of Loreto, Baja California, to the Bays of San Diego, Monterey and San Francisco, Alta California. He was a soldado de Cuera of the Presidio of Monterey. On January 1 (7), 1782, he married Maria Luisa del Carmen Dominguez, the daughter of Ildefonso Domingues of the Villa de Sinaloa, Sinaloa, Mexico and Maria Ignacia German of Sinaloa, at the Mission San Gabriel.
Juan Francisco Reyes died about 1809 in Los Angeles (county) and was buried at the Mission San Gabriel Cemetery.
I am trying to find information on Maria Reyes, Juan Francisco Reyes's mother and his father Juan Reyes y Dias who changed his name to Juan Diaz later.
Any information on these two would really be appreciated. Contact me at genforum or email me at [email protected]
Thank you Tina
