I, too, am a Rey from Switzerland. My family came to America in 1850 from Fahrwangen, Kt. Aargau. My great-great grandfather was Rudolf Rey(1811-?). He brought with him his 2nd wife(Anna Dobeli) and his two sons Rudolf(1836-1914) and Samuel(1838-1907) as well as Anna's son(Jakob Rey 1839-1888). I am descended from Samuel. Rudolf and Jakob eventually returned to Switzerland. I can go back to 1745. Also I have records of the first Reys von Fahrwangen in 1340 and can go from there to 1531. I am seeking information to close the gap. According to the Staatsarchivar des Kt. Aargau are family orginall came from the region of Buttwil on top of the mountain Lindenberg, 4 miles southeast of Fahrwangen.

I look forward to hearing from you. Also, one branch was at Aesch, Kt. Luzern by 1400-1438. The name mentioned is Hentzman Rey or Reig. Tom Rey
