The lineage of Ruis's/Rewis's that I have been following migrated to Tattnall County from Emanuel County, Ga. in the early 1800's and then after the Civil War they moved to Lowndes County. From there they have spread out all over south Ga. and north Fla.

I have a Bertha Ruis who is the daughter of William Manning Ruis, Born in 1905, but Ruis was her maiden name. I don't have a record of a George Rewis/Ruis, but I am sure that he is tied in to the family somewhere. Maybe someone else could come up with a match for you.
