I knew her as "Aunt Belle." Actually, she was my great aunt. Belle was my grandfather Charles (Maurice) Miller Rew's sister. I met her once when she came out to California (from Chicago) in 1960. I was 12, and she brought me a pair of black bikini underwear! It was winter and she made the comment that it looked like the freeways here had been swept clear of snow. I was absolutely enthralled with her button collection she brought. My aunt Martha Rew (my mother's sister) lived with Aunt Belle in Chicago as a young girl and Belle "refined" the country bumpkin from Arkansas. My mother was given her aunt's middle name: Virginia Belle Rew.
I, too, am researching this Rew line.
