Betty:
I decend from the Revell's of the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Maryland. Because I have concentrated my research on this branch of the Revell family,I have very little information to offer from other branches of the Revell family. However in reviewing information sent to my sister and then forwarded to me by Lucy Overbey of Bloomfield, MO several years ago, it is my opinion that you decend from John Revell who immigrrated to the United States, specifically Henrico County, Virginia in 1652. This same line continues to be unverified from John through the next two generations, thereafter many people have been able to document most of this very productive line.
To be more specific I believe that your line is as follows:
Micajah Revell born ca. 1790 in Nash County, NC and an unknown wife to sons Burrel Revell,Ethelred Revell, Isaac Revell, John Revell, Micajah Revell and Robert M. Revell
all born in North Carolina. Ethelred married in 1796 to Elizabeth Combs born 1759. Some of their children were as follows: Davis W. Revell born 1798; Denton Revell born 1802;
John L Revell born 1802; Jame Revell born 1804; Susan Revell born 1807; Mahala Revell born 1810 and Thomas Revell born 1813 all in Tennessee. According to my records Davis married first Ethel in 1824 and second Lydia Johnson in 1842 and died in 1870 in Bollinger County, MO. Children with Ethel were Mahady Revell 1825; Ethelred Revell 1828; Margaret Elizabeth 1830; and Susan Revell 1834. Children with Lydia were Joseph Revell 1842; Benjamin Revell 1845; Westley Revell 1847; Columbus Americus Revell 1849; Randaolh Revell 1854, Marion Revell 1857 and John Preston Revell 4 Mar 1859. John Preston married twice. First to Druscillia Mc Kelvey and second to Rowena Tilley. I assume that you have the rest of this lineage.
The best resource that I can refer you to is Rene Rylander who has researched this line extensively. I believe that Rene can help you discover you family lineage back to the early 1700s.
Best of Luck. JRR
