researching my REUTER roots. 4th great-grandfather, Johann Reuter came from Germany. Lived in NYC for a few years in the late 1850's & early 1860's...then settled in the Waterloo section of Ontario, Canada. 1 - Johann Reuter (d. before 1882) married Cresentia Oechsner (b. 12 Jul 1812 in Germany, d. 3 Nov 1884 in Ontario). Johann and Cresentia's children: 2 - John Reuter (b. 8 Apr 1833 in Germany, d. 27 Oct 1889 in Elmira, Ont); married Anna Maria Schlund in 1855 in Waterloo, Ont. John and Anna's children: 3 - Mary Reuter (b. 1856, d. 29 Feb 1908); married George Kuntz (b. 1851 in Ontario). 3 - Barbara Ellen Reuter (b. 23 Jun 1859 in NYC, d. 28 Sep 1935 in Linwood, Ont), married first to Patrick Culhane, then to Peter Ament. 3 - John S. Reuter* (b. Sep 1863 in Ontario [possibly Preston], d. late 1930's in Buffalo, NY), married 6 Jul 1890 in Wrayton/Drayton, Ontario to Clara B. Stricker (b. 1869 in Waterloo, Ont, d. in Buffalo, NY). 3 - Charles Reuter (b. 1866 in Ont, date of death unknown. Family legend is that he was a fireman on a Lake Erie Steamer, and he drown at sea when he was washed overboard in a storm.) 3 - Caroline Reuter (b. 1868 in Ont), married Charles Graham. They later moved to Michigan. 3 - Jacob Reuter (b. 25 Jan 1871 in Ontario, d. 27 Jul 1892; buried in Linwood, Ont.) 2 - Mary Reuter (b. 1845, d. 5 Jan 1925), married Thomas Etherington. 2 - Amelia Reuter (b. 1850) 2 - Charles Reuter (b.
