My 3rd great grandfather was John Reuter & lived in NYC abt. late 1850's & early 1860's.
Although out John Reuter's are two different people & I'm curious if you know if yours fought in the Civil War?
I am researching a John Reuter that fought with the 7th NY Infantry in 1861-1863. I ordered his war records yesterday to see if he could be related....but i saw your post & thought I'd try with you.
