Sara,
D. Scott is my Mother and the grandaughter of a Franz Anton Renz. Here is what I have on this line starting with the father of our Franz Anton. Immigrated to America in about 1846.
Franz Joseph Renz, (husband of Theresia Rennwald) died 24 August 1830 in Malsch.Age listed as 54, born about 1776, presumably in Germany. He and Theresia had several children in addition to Franz Anton (FAR b.12 April 1825, in Malsch, Baden-Wuertemberg, Germany, d. 1 August 1907 in St. Paul, Minnesota) as follows: Andreas, Barbara b. 1809 d. 5 Dec. 1836; Josefus of Joseph, b. 3 August, 1813; Rapheal, b. 25 Oct. 1815, d. 22 April 1891; Carolus or Carl, b. 3 Nov. 1817; Bernhard, b. 19 March 1820 d. 12 March 1841 and Helena, b. 30 May 1822, d. 31 May 1826. Some of these children resided in Brooklyn, NY.
Franz Anton married Amalia Ecker, 16 March 1858.Franz returned to Germany to marry Emalia and brought her back to Minnesota.Franz and Amalia had 5 children, three sons lived to adulthood. Two daughters died as children.Parents and sons all lived in St. Paul, MN after having lived on a homestead in Carver County, MN.There is more. With this, do we have a connection to work on?Hope so.
