Dear Bob,
My Great Grandmother Margaret Whigham's mother was Mary Dickson, whos' parents were William Dickson and Mary RENWICK.
This is where the interest in the RENWICKS begin. Mary was born on the 22/12/1833 in Yarrow the daughter of Robert Renwick and Elizabeth Glendinning.
Robert was born 13/1/1797 the son of Moses Renwick and Violet Temple, from Blackleemouth.
I don't know what information you have been able to collect since your last entry but hopefully we can share some details. I have a copy of the chapter you refer to in the book 'Rulewater and its people' and found it very interesting.
I can add some details on Moses and Violets children that I have managed to find.

Violet(b.1813) died a widow on 26/12/1891 aged 78 at Upper Nisbet in the parish of Crailing having contracted Pneumonia. The death was informed by Jessie Readshaw.

Betty(b.22/10/1801) died a widow on 5/3/1869 aged 65 of chronic bronchitis and senile debility in the parish of Bedrule. The informant was a William Oliver her son-in-law.
My Robert Renwick married Elizabeth Glendinning on 19/12/1828 in the parish of Ettrick. They had 5 children that I know about, Violet,Betty,Thomas and Mary.Robert died on 16/7/1886 aged 89 at Yarrowfeus in Yarrow parish. Cause of death was Paralysis and fever in was notified by has daughter Elizabeth Renwick Dalgliesh.
Charlotte married a Robert Rutherford but have still to find out more.
Helen or Nelly(b.26/8/1803)Married Andrew Kerr on 25/12/1829 in Hobkirk. She died on 20/6/1879 aged 74 at 67 Canongate,Jedburgh of senile decay. Her Sister Mary Affleck of Rosslaw in Kelso was the informant.
Anyway I hope you find some of the above of interest. Please do not hesitate to contact me and maybe we can share other bits and pieces.
