Mr. Shuff: I assume that you have read the two relatively recent bios on Marcus: "In Custer's Shadow", by Ron Nichols and "Reno and Apsarooka (sp?) Survive Custer", by Ottie W. Reno. Both have a fair amount of material on the Rosses. Ottie is a Municipal Judge in Ohio with whom I have corresponded. He goes to So. Dakota every year for the Custer reenactment and has acted as one of the three judges there the past two years. I also have recently acquired a copy of Marcus's unenviable record at West Point. He still holds the record for accumulating the most demerits ever, for anyone that graduated. If you need more definite citations, let me know. Also, you can contact me at:
