Hello Jim. Great to hear from you. I personally am not related but I am the genealogist for the island of Lismore in Argyll in Scotland where Jean Rennie came after she married Alexander McGregor. There are descendants living on the island today although their name is McCormick - a daughter of Jean and Alexander married a McCormick. They certainly have some "Afro" hair in each generation and in some cases thickish lips although their skin is normal colour for this part of the world. The oral history certainly claims that Jean was at least darker than the norm for here and this has come down through the years as "black" which of course could mean anything. I know that the family would be really grateful to know anything of Jean's ancestry and I wonder if you could email me details to lismoremuseum@btconnect.com and in the subject line put "For Laura". In return I can let you have details of Jean's descendants after she came here. Best wishes Laura
