In my research of the McDUFFEE line from Wayne Co., IL I have found a Great Uncle, Joseph McDUFFEE who maried Agnes Isaphena RENFRO in 1884. She died 24 Jan 1900 and is buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetary in Wayne Co., IL. They had five daughters. She was born in Morehouse, MO 24 Jun 1861 and the daughter of Stephen John "Jack" RENFRO and Isaphena Ann ATTEBERRY. I checked my reference and found a Moses RENFRO was in Wayne Co., IL by 1 Jan 1834. This is found in the 1884 History of Wayne and Clay Counties, IL. This reference came from an account book of David WRIGHT. Moses sold 10 lb. Deerskins $1, he bought 1 1/4 yd bleached muslin @37 1/2 cents, 2 1/2 yds. calico @ 43 1/4 cents, 2 lb. coffee 50 cents, 2 lb. sugar 33 cents, 2 gal. whisky $1. I do not know the relation of Stephen John "Jack" RENFRO and Moses RENFRO. Another reference mentions the "RENFRO brothers" as early settlers of Barnhill Twp. in Wayne Co.To my knowledge there are several descendants from the Renfros still living in Wayne County. Please E-mail me if you have further questions, as I do not visit these forums on a regular basis.
