Henry Remley was born 1 Aug 1817 and died 13 Aug 1880 in Franklin Co., PA; his wife, Catharine Shindle was the daughter of Jacob Schindel/Shindle and Catharine Lang/Long. She was born 28 Nov 1828, near the present town of State Line (Middleburg), PA, and died 11Aug 1875. Henry and Catherine were married in 1842. They were buried in the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Greencastle, PA. Their tombs were disturbed in September 1922 for the building of an educational addition to the church. His tomb stone is still extant; hers isn't. Henry and Catharine had the following children:

Resided Nebraska
Peter Cornelius Remley: 3 Jul 1852-14 Feb 1929; m. Lydia Margaret Koons
Residied Nebraska
Rebecca Ann Remley: 21 Oct 1856-16 Sep 1914; m.Levi Daniel Spessard
Resided near Smithsburg, Washington Co., MD
Dora Remley: 15 Nov 1859; death date unknown; m. Henry Super Sheffler
Resided Belgrade, Nebraska
Amanda Susan Remley: 4 Mar 1863-29 Oct 1944; m. Charles Myers
Resided near Leitersburg, Washington County, MD

The Remley farm was on the crossroads between Leitersburg, MD and Greencastle, PA, just above the Mason-Dixon line.
