I am interested in finding any descendants from a William REMYNGTON who died in 1511 who supposedly was the son of Roger REMYNGTON of Boston, Lincolnshire, ENG. He was an alderman, member of the fishmongers guild and eventually became Mayor of London in 1500-01 but don't think he was particularly prominent. (That's why I can't find out much!) My great aunt indicated that St. Botolph's church there in Boston, ENG.,was where we might find some records. She had an opportunity to purchase a primitive portrait from another relative of him in his mayoral robes in the early 1900's, but didn't. My known ancestor is John P. (possibly PEARCE) REMINGTON, Philadelphia sea captain, b. 1775 RI to Peleg and Amey (JONES) REMINGTON and is buried at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. Any research suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Judy Alexander judyalex@bellsouth.net P.S. Is any REMINGTON researcher still in contact with Max REMINGTON? I beleive he lives in CT. Max had mentioned to me seeing a RI newspaper article many years ago about a REMINGTON descendant requesting to use the family crest. Notify Administrator about this message?
