Although I also have several Thomas Remingtons in my data, some of whom were from the Warwick area, I have no daughter named Phebe for any of them. This probably explains why no one has ever been able to discover Phebe's parentage -- because her father's marriage is not known. There was a Capt. Thomas Remington who owned land in Pawtuxet, a coastal village on the Cranston-Warwick town line. He was a slave trader (supposedly a benevolent one). Some of his land was sold to the colony of RI for use as coastal defense during the Revolution. This Thomas is one of the mystery individuals. There are a couple of other possibilities, too, from that time period. It was a popular family name. I would assume that Phebe's father must have been born in the early 1700s.
