Flora S. Clark in her book "Michael, Part 1, Generations 1-4" (Spencer Historical & Genealogic Society: Indianapolis 1987), 56, lists "Martha" as the wife of Daniel Fones.

But, E. Bruce Fones in his website called "Welcome to the Fones (Fownes) Family Web Site", (http://www.fones.org/htmlNE/d0000/g0000068.html), identifies her as Mercy Remington. I believe The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ancestral File (R), agrees with the Bruce Fones website.
