The Recorder, Greenfield, Mass., 2 July 2002: "Bernice R. (Remillard) Poirier GREENFIELD — Bernice R. (Remillard) Poirier, 76, of 119 Cleveland St. died Monday (7-1-02) at Buckley HealthCare Center. Born in Gill, July 7, 1925, she was the daughter of Augustus and Amelia (Bergeron) Remillard. She graduated in 1943 from Greenfield High School. She had been a resident of Greenfield most of her married life. Poirier was owner of the Harber Yarn Shop from 1973 to the present. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, baking, gardening, hiking and camping. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Joseph J. Poirier; a son, Robert A. and his wife Linda of Rifle, Colo.; three daughters, Diane L. Cote and her husband David of Heath, Paula J. of Bernardston and Charlene M. of Northfield; four brothers, Paul N. Remillard of Gill, Earl D. Remillard of Spokane, Wash., A. Kenneth Remillard of Bernardston and Robert G. Remillard of Northfield; two sisters, Harriet A. Smith of Quinlan, Texas, and Ramona L. Willis of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Chris Unaitis and his wife Dana of Greenfield, Leanne Unaitis of Fairfield, Conn., Andrea Ferguson and her husband Brian of Rifle, Eric Poirier of Rifle and Jonathan and Matthew Bassett of Northfield; three great-grandchildren, Michael S. Clarke of New Hampshire, Sydnie Ferguson of Rifle and Sydney Unaitis of Greenfield, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal St., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Holy Trinity Church Renovation Fund, 133 Main St., or to Hospice of Western New England, 164 High St., both in Greenfield, MA 01301."
