This message may interest you. I am French-Canadian from Québec province. This is the story had been told. Most of these fact are already verified.
Québec province, Canada is the source for all Remillard's name. Rémillard was not the original name, Rouillard was. It seen this name is from FRANCE.
1st Generation) The first one to use this new name was Francois Rouillard born in 1645 at "Islet" village, Québec, Canada and died in 1700. He was married on May-07-1681 to Anne Gadoury, born in 1668 at "St-Foy" city, Québec and died in 1740. I do not know how much children they did get but the first remillard ( to my knowledge )from my family had the same name than his father. Francois Remillard
Todays, this name is write in two ways. Remillard or Rémillard. It is also call two different ways. Rouillard name still for those who keep the original name.
2nd Generation) Francois Remillard was born in 1694 at "St-Valier", Québec but we do not know when he die. He was married Francoise Hélie, born at "St-Michel of Napierville" ( near USA Border ), Québec in 1704 and die in 1779 at "St-Cuthbert", Québec. Again, I do not know how many children but Joseph ( Marie ) Rémillard was born.
3th Generation) Joseph (Marie)Rémillard was born in 1733 at "L'Acadie" village and die in 1808 at the same location. He was married on April-08-1755 to Clothide Denis-Lapierre born in 1740 from ? and die at "L'Acadie" village in 1803. 18 children was borned. I do have only one child's name, André Remillard.
4th Generation) André Rémillard born in 1771 and die in 1840 at "St-Michel of Napierville" . He was married on Nov-24-1800 to (first name unknow) Charbonneau from the next village, "St-Jacques-le-Mineur". This lady was born in 1773 and die at the same location in 1849. Again, unknow quantity of children. But They had Antoine Rémillard.
5th Generation) Antoine Rémillard born at "L'Acadie" in 1804 and die at "St-Jacques-le-Mineur" in 1879. He was married on Oct-21-1828 at "L'Acadie" to Clémence Lamarre born from ? in 1811 and die in 1887 at ?. I suspect they lived their entire live in "St-Jacques-le-Mineur" They had 10 children. One of them, Isaie Rémillard.
6th Generation) Isaie Rémillard born in 1845 at believed to be in "St-Jacques-le-Mineur" and probably die at same village. He was married on Oct-16-1871 at "Laprairie" village to Adeline Page born in 1841 from ? and die in 1928.They had 7 children. One of them, Georges Rémillard
Todays, most of George Remillard 's children still alive and live in "St-Jacques-le Mineur" area.
