I am still searching for the real family of my Indian medicine man Dr. Joseph D. Moody who was most likely Adopted by the Joseph Moody in Brunswick, Maine. Anyway, Mary F. REMICK daughter of William and Martha, lived next door to William C. Moody that she married much later in 1873, and can be seen there in the 1850 Brunswick, ME census. Mary was about 8 years old and William was about 10 or so. I have recently been told by newly found cousins in Maine that our family was part Passamaquoddy Indian. LOTS of Indian families were living in Brunswick and I can now recognize many of the names. I am still wondering however if this Remick family ever lived in Franklin Co., Maine though. I have found from my past year of research though that many of these Indian families stayed together. Since I was told that this Remick family may also be part Indian, and since my own family was part Passamaquoddy (Mi'kmaq or Maliseet being the other half), I tend to believe now that they were sticking together in Brunswick and that would also explain the intermarriage of the two families. Just thought I would add this on in case someone else is researching this family too. Notify Administrator about this message?
